Unit Manager

Job Introduction

HMP Forest Bank are currently recruiting for a Unit Manager.

You will support and embed the safe delivery of the security of the prison and external prison escorts, deliver the business and contractual requirements of the contract. You will also contribute to the reducing reoffending agenda through effective partnership working.

Sodexo Justice Services delivers custodial and community rehabilitation services that challenge offending behaviour, protect the public and offer individuals the opportunity to change their lives for the better. We deliver the total operation of five prisons within England, Scotland and Wales and own six Community Rehabilitation Companies in partnership with crime reduction charity Nacro.

Role Responsibility

• Monitor and continuously improve incident response procedures.
• Assist the Senior Management Team develop and execute Policy and Procedures and Strategic Plans.
• Undertake tasks as attributed by the LSS and Tactical tasking Plan.
• Prepare an annual searching plan and review this quarterly.
• Visit all areas of the prison to check that procedures are being adhered to
• Provide a central source of information on relevant legislation, instructions, orders and services policies relating to the business unit within the custodial environment.
• Undertake duties as required that will contribute to the effective operation of the prison.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

• Operational experience in prisons; security clearance to the level; PCO badged.
• Technical knowledge of relevant prison legislation, PSOs, Standards, inspection and audit processes; and knowledge of the wider criminal justice system.
• Successful completions of incident and hostage management training, and adjudication training.
• A strong and consistent moral compass and the ability to provide value based leadership.
• Ability to exercise sound judgement in a politicised environment.
• Trained to level 2 in RIPA compliance

Desirable

• Contract knowledge and contract management skills.
• Knowledge of national security framework requirements.
• Risk management skills.
• Business continuity planning
