Trainee Facilities Manager (Healthcare)

Job Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit a Trainee Facilities Manager who will bridge the gap between Supervisors and Operational managers on site at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, providing a clear succession route into Management.

In this role, you’ll work with the Operational Manager on projects, supporting where necessary and provide cover during periods of absence.

Role Responsibility

  • Support in the management, co-ordination and development of all soft services (including retail as appropriate) at the hospital ensuring the delivery of a cost-effective service, which meets the needs of Trust/Sodexo and complies with policies and statutory regulations
  • Support the management of services in line with all KPI’s and budgetary requirements
  • Implement improvements in working practices which will deliver efficiencies in line with best practice
  • Conform with any relevant legislative and codes of practice appertaining to Health & Safety legislation
  • Ensure that a clean and hygienic environment is maintained at all times for patients, staff and members of the public in line with National Standards of Cleanliness 2007/2009
  • Regularly review work schedules and monitor all soft service activities in the hospital
  • Ensure standards of service remain consistently high and are compliant with the Project Agreement (Schedule 14)
  • Maintain and develop a positive working culture and environment through sound leadership, effective communication and delegation, to ensure a continued ‘Engaged’ workforce
  • Support in compiling all monthly statistics and figure

The Ideal Candidate

  • ISOH Managing Safely or equivalent
  • CIEH Level 3
  • Analysis issues to understand root cause and decides on course of action
  • Balances competing demands and responds well to changed priorities
  • Develops and communicates workable action plans
  • Understands and manages key business drivers
  • Inspires with energy and enthusiasm and draws on people’s strength to achieve best results

40 hours per week, flexibility is a must. Normal working hours 8.00am - 4.30pm, with additional hours as business dictates.
