Technical Support Technician

Job Introduction

Job Purpose

To provide support for clinical manufacturing teams and process development teams within Pharmaceutical Development

 

Role Responsibility

Accountabilities or “what you have to do”

 

  • Primarily involved with general cleaning of equipment and surrounding areas, disassembly, decontamination and reassembly of equipment and working to relevant SOP and GMP standards.
  • Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness within assigned areas by ensuring that the relevant work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed.
  • To ensure accurate completion of logbooks as required by SOPs
  • Be aware of all safety issues including identification of hazards and recommendations for safety improvements if necessary
  • To operate to approved quality standards (e.g. GMP).

 

Problems and Special Features of the Job

(e.g. particular safety responsibilities, unpleasant / hazardous working conditions, requirement to wear / use protective clothing / equipment)

  • All work is undertaken within pharmaceutical clean rooms.
  • All work carried out to GMP standards.
  • Reasonable standard of fitness as job holder on feet for most of the day.
  • Prepared to work out of hours if required.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to be worn as directed by line manager and in accordance with work instructions and procedures.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum qualification GCSE or equivalent grades A-C in a science subject, Maths & English.
  • Ability to work supportively as part of a team
  • Ability to work on own initiative within the bounds of local procedures
  • Ability to follow protocols consistently and to produce accurate records
  • Good communication skills
  • Good safety awareness

Previous experience in a GMP or laboratory environment would be an advantage.

 

About the Company

The position may require successful candidate to work between 2 sites.  Harlow and Ware.  Fixed Term contract for 1 year.
