Sodexo are recruiting for a Technical Services Manager for our Corporate Services Segment, based at Alderley Park in Macclesfield. Alderley Park Limited (APL) is a community of Scientist, innovators, investors and entrepreneurs catalysing the growth of innovative science and technology businesses.

You will be responsible for managing Sodexo services to the client’s operational assets, to manage and control the services for the client to the agreed specification, performance, qualitative and financial targets.

As Technical Services Manager you will be responsible for an operating (R&D/Office/Engineering) area and to lead a team to ensure delivery against Key Performance Indicators.

Reporting into the Senior Operations Manager, you will be required to have experience in the Facilities Management industry, as well as asset maintenance planning software systems, managing a team of engineers, engineering compliance delivery as well as fantastic leadership skills and strong client relationship experience. A mechanical engineering background would be preferable, however we would also encourage people from other engineering backgrounds to apply. 

This role has a salary from £40,000 to £49,000 dependant on experience with an array of benefits attached including bonus, a flexible benefits fund, retailer discount schemes, annual leave and pension. This is a Monday to Friday role with very occasional weekend work.

Role Responsibility

  • Comply with Sodexo and statutory regulations relating to Safe Systems of Work, health & safety, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH.
  • To deliver a consistent level of service, to the contract specification and agreed performance, qualitative and financial targets.
  • To achieve green KPI performance across the total IFM framework.
  • 100% Compliance across engineering & quality business sectors
  • Adoption of Quality of Life service delivery via a cultural operating model
  • Deliver IFM ownership of designated areas, focused on delivering excellent customer service.
  • To be a single point of contact for your business area by taking responsibility for total service delivery.
  • Ensure that engineering compliance is delivered at all times and that MSP assets are maintained in a way that enables tenant business to perform
  • Ensure the Computer Maintenance Management System (Global Maximo/Prime etc) contains factually correct and up to date Asset/Equipment information to guarantee that all assets are maintained to industry standards and are compliant.
  • Ensure that all maintenance interventions are planned and prioritised in-line with Maintenance best practice initiatives to deliver maximum business benefit and minimise client impact/disruption
  • Ensure that all costs and expenditure are within the budgeted levels agreed between client and Sodexo.
  • Control all costs such as labour, expenses, cash purchases as agreed with the client.
  • Jointly oversee a small projects arm of the team and support operational delivery of projects
  • Recruit, manage, induct, train, motivate and appraise staff (PDR) to promote good employee relations and operate within Sodexo procedures, legislation and the investors in people standards.
  • Deliver IFM ownership of designated areas, focused on delivering excellent customer service.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Strong Networking skills within the wider Sodexo to utilise internal resource as required
  • Experience in asset maintenance planning software systems
  • SAP Financial experience working with P+L Accounts
  • Demonstrate experience with Sodexo e/profit/Payroll systems and Sodexo Way processes
  • Strong commercial knowledge / demonstrate working on a large FM account
  • Member of BIFM
  • IOSH Certificate in Managing Safely
  • High level of practical knowledge of relevant employment, hygiene, Health and Safety and general legislative requirements
  • Safe Systems of Works allocated to support the relevant work activity (ATW/PTW/Hot work)
  • Sound commercial knowledge with understanding of client and Sodexo budget framework
