Job Introduction

 
  • The control and implementation of the varying shift patterns for the full-time, part-time and casual staff employed at the facility.
  • Lifeguarding/Supervising planned session in the swimming pool
  • Completion and submission of weekly pay variations and overtime.
  • Assisting the Deputy Manager in all areas of training, including but not limited to Great Box, COSHH, SSW and RA’s.
  • The control and management of all staff, which includes all on site disciplinary matters, their shift rosters and leave requirements.
  • Manage TMS on a daily basis
  • Attend monthly mandatory lifeguard staff training, maintain in-date NPLQ.
  • To liaise with the Receptionist regarding Gym bookings to ensure equipment is issued and/or set up as necessary including handing over and handing back climbing wall.
  • The overall supervision of the facility user sheets as produced and issued by the Authority, as well as Company Defence Quality Management System support documentation and controls.
  • The reporting to the Authority & Company of all breakages, losses and work service requirements, and the storage and control of all Authority owned equipment.
  • The storage, control and recording of all lost property.
  • The daily and weekly cleaning regimes within the facility in compliance with the contract requirements.
  • Ensuring overall compliance by staff and users alike with the Gymnasium’s safety practices.
  • Liaison with non-military users.
  • Ensuring the compliance in all SHEF matters as required by the Company and those which are site specific.
  • SHEF representative for all amenities and member of the site H&S Committee in the absence of Deputy Manager.
  • Engagement representative for all amenities.
  • Responsible for Key holding and opening/closing the Centre on a daily basis as per contract times
  • Lifeguard/Cleaning/Reception duties as required.
  • Opening and closing the building in accordance with the Opening and Closing SSW’s (14.01/14.02)
  • Sale of items from sales cabinet, and transfer of cash receipts to the office safe.
  • Conducting Team Huddles
  • The ordering, management and control of all First aid equipment.
  • The authorization, management and control of records for staff’s annual leave. Excluding Deputy Manager’s and Receptionist’s.
  • Upload identified documents onto DMS system within the set time frame.
 

Role Responsibility

  • Ensuring the centre is meeting its day to day requirements set out in the Service Delivery Standards (SDS)
  • Ensure all shifts are covered and the centre is staffed to the required standard set out in the Service Delivery Standards (SDS)
  • Ensuring TMS anomalies are cleared daily by 9am
  • To conduct weekly Team Huddles
  • To ensure both lost property and damaged equipment is logged in accordance with the Service Delivery Standards (SDS)
  • Attend monthly mandatory lifeguard staff training, maintain in-date NPLQ.
  • Opening and closing the building in accordance with the Opening and Closing SSW’s (14.01/14.02)
  • To report all Near Misses, Accidents, Incidents and Sporting Injuries in line with the on-site reporting procedures.
  • Manage all Lifeguards annual leave
  • Upload Team Huddles within one week of being delivered to all team members
  • Upload the following documents to DMS within three days of the check being carried out: First aid provisions check, First aid box quantity check
 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in managing/leading a team
  • Current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of health and safety
  • Able to work on own initiative within team environment
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards
  • ICT skills (experience in using Word, Excel and Microsoft outlook
  •  Customer focused individual
