Student Placement - Staffing Administrator

Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Student placement to join our team as a Staffing Administrator starting In August 2020 with an opportunity to work casually at Royal Ascot 2020 if successful candidate was interested and available. This role would be ideal if you have an interest in HR/Staffing within the hospitality and events sector. As the Staffing Administrator, you will be reporting into the senior staffing coordinator supporting on organising casual staff for race days and events at the racecourse and help to recruit new casual staff members to site and completing onboarding processes with them as well as liaising with our operational team to book staff. You will be required to work on racedays which can take place on weekends.

Role Responsibility

  • Attending recruitment fairs to promote casual roles
  • Organise and assist assessment centres and interviewing candidates
  • Communicate to our bank casual staff ensuring they are aware of the necessary information relating to the race day/event, e.g. areas of work, uniform standards, start dates, pay rates and parking
  • Provide admin support to the staffing team – Processing casuals expenses, book staff for events and ensure staff are briefed prior to an event
  • Build relationships and engage with our staff, ensuring we focus on staff returning to areas on a raceday
  • Manage our team email inbox; answering our staff queries, which can include payroll queries, shift queries and referrals of new staff
  • Liaise with our agency providers to inform them of allocations and give them the feedback on their teams post event
  • To liaise with and support our operational team with staffing support.
  • Help at staff check-in during race days, working on our helpdesk to ensure staff check in smoothly and efficiently – being the first face our staff see so ensuring a positive, happy environment
