Student Placement - Hospitality (Airport Lounges)

Job Introduction

We are keen to hear from people looking for a career in the events or hospitality industry, someone who is passionate and enthusiastic and can see the benefit of joining a market leading, global business. The successful applicant will be based within our aviation business, working at first class airport lounges at Heathrow. This position involves working at events and venues that operate 7 days a week therefore flexibility to work some weekends is important.

In return for your hard work and commitment during your placement year you may be able to secure a permanent role with the team following graduation.

Role Responsibility

During your placement you will work with our management team across all areas of the services we provide within the airport lounges, from front of house, finance, customer service and hospitality. You will spend time in the offices, front of house and even have the opportunity to take on some management responsibilities. You will see our vast operation and spend time in a variety of departments which will give you a fantastic insight into a range of hospitality roles.

During your time with us, you will have the opportunity to:- 

  • Spend time in a variety of departments.
  • Work on high profile events.
  • Observe other areas of our business such as hospitality, events, logistics and planning.
  • Learn about other areas of our Sodexo Sports and Leisure business.
  • Potentially support on additional events, Open Golf, Chelsea Flower Show.
  • Secure a casual contract for your final year of study

The Ideal Candidate

This is a placement for a 2nd year student who wants to join the team for a 12 month period to learn about the industry. On completion you will return to University for your final year. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident, articulate and keen to succeed.
