Specialist Engineering Manager

Job Introduction

Are you a specialist Engineer with experience of working in a pharmaceutical environment and leading a team?

Sodexo Corporate Services are recruiting a Specialist Engineering Manager to join our prestigious client site.

You will be responsible for managing the instruments and projects teams.  You will have accountability for all safety, operational and financial management of each service reporting directly to the FM Manager.

 

Role Responsibility

  • Responsible for managing and developing the instruments and project teams ensuring all works are completed within time and budgetary constraints
  • Ensure operational compliance with policies, systems and procedures in place for:

- Safe systems of work including CDM

- Permit To Work System

- Standard Operating Practices

- Risk and COSHH assessments

- Contract management of vendors and contractors

- Engagement and liaison with Unilever facilities and category science owners

- Staff training and engagement

  • Compliance with all relevant technical statutory and non-statutory legislation/guidance ensuring site is audit ready for external and internal inspections at all times
  • Systems and processes are in place to ensure compliance to SSOW
  • Responsibility for technical SOP’s including safe means of isolation
  • Project and Instrument teams are aware of their responsibilities and that they are suitably trained to conduct planned, reactive and project activities
  • Continuously assess and review the service to achieve continuous improvement and best practise
  • Ensure that processes are in place to assure the prompt provision and efficient delivery of all services at the specified time to the standards laid down in specified contract Key Performance Indicator’s. 
  • Complete routine audits at required frequency, including Stop Shift Audits and Behavioural Observations
  • Ensure that steps are in place to assure the maintenance and upkeep of key site documentation and to ensure the incumbent delivery team adopts a systematic and consistent approach for all change activities.
     

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum IOSH Certificate in Managing Safely
  • Must have high level of practical engineering and technical knowledge
  • Experienced at a professional level with a proven track record of building services management and building asset (plant and equipment) operations in a complex building services environment
  • Flexible with the ability to work under pressure whilst looking for continual improvements to service delivery
  • Ability to grasp requirements effectively and to relate to the service provisions of the Contract
  • Awareness of Legionella, Water Quality Management
  • Awareness of Pressure systems
  • Asbestos awareness
  • Confined Space awareness
  • Computer literate 
  • Numerate and Literate with developed communication skills
