Hospitality Sous Chef

Job Introduction

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic Sous Chef to join the brigade at an Independent School, supporting the delivery of daily food production and hospitality for one of the top girls boarding schools in the UK.

This opportunity will provide a fantastic environment for an aspiring Head Chef and will suit those with an excellent craft background and ability to supervise and inspire an award winning team, teamed with a passion to deliver a first class catering experience to our customers.


 

Role Responsibility

  • Support the delivery and production of food and hospitality services for a large high profile contract. This can include up to 1,000 students for core feeding, plus high profile dinners and hospitality along with a brand new café facility.
  • Supervise, motivate and inspire a brigade of 12 Chefs plus Kitchen Porters to ensure a high quality service is delivered, providing coaching and training when required.
  • Have input into the development of the service offering and the engineering of menus and food innovation for the site.
  • Have responsibility for all aspects of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene
  • Ensure financial documentation and accountancy of the unit (and those from suppliers) is accurate and within agreed budgeted levels

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in a Sous Chef role, ideally within volume catering, hospitality and fine dining.
  • Excellent supervisory skills and experience of working in a large brigade
  • Industry acumen and knowledge of external catering developments and innovations
  • Good communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels
  • Good financial awareness
  • Personal innovation and passion for quality fresh food
  • Experience working in a standards/compliance environment
