Shift Chef

Job Introduction

Sodexo Energy & Resources has an exciting opportunity for a Shift Chef to join our Catering Team supporting the business with providing a quality service to our client BP at the Sullom Voe Terminal, Shetland.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a flexible, multi-functional Catering service to the BP customers at site while ensuring standards relating to catering and kitchen hygiene are maintained at all times.

Role Responsibility

Provision of an efficient, professional and in a flexible and cost effective manner which meets with the requirements of and is fully aligned to the needs of the Catering Services Team and their external customers

Manage the service of all meals and kitchen duties in a professional manner, providing prompt service of all meals at the required times, to the company’s standard and the client’s satisfaction and in accordance with company’s/client’s performance specifications

Look for ways to reduce Company costs while maintain or improving the service

All food to be prepared and cooked off to the agreed standards in the agreed amount and passed to the hot press as required

Control incoming supplies from stores for quality, quantity, damage and spoilage

Manage and rotate stock to ensure food safety and minimum wastage and achievement of contract food and cleaning costs

Demonstrate excellence in all areas of preparation, presentation and service

Ensure that all kitchen tools and equipment is operated and maintained in a safe and clean manner and report any defects

Adhere to the processes, procedures and standards for delivering the Catering service

Actively demonstrate role model attitudes and behaviours by displaying an approachable, friendly and helpful manner to colleagues and customers

Attend any meetings and/or training courses as may be necessary

The Ideal Candidate

Several years catering experience in an offshore or onshore environment

Customer focused

Positive mind-set to change and ‘can do’ attitude

Flexible, Self-motivated and reliable

Consideration to the needs of others

Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work

Ability to deliver against deadlines

Ability and initiative to work with minimum supervision
