Service Delivery Manager (Hard FM/Technical Services)

Job Introduction

As Service Delivery Manager within Defence Technical Services you'll be responsible for the efficient delivery of all maintenance tasks and minor new works in line with contractual and legislative requirements, utilising internal and external resources

The military base is the home of 16 Air Assault Brigade – the UK’s most rapidly deployable and powerful air manoeuvre fighting formation. The 460-acre site is home to approximately 3,500 military and 750 civilian personnel.

Role Responsibility

  • Responsible for delivery of all planned and reactive maintenance tasks
  • Leadership and people management of colleagues within Service Delivery Team (dr c5, indirect c22)
  • Client relationship management
  • Management of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental
  • Compliance/adherence to applicable statute and applicable policies and procedures
  • Budgetary management and control
  • Record keeping
  • Deputising in Technical Services Manager's absence

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience of managing a multi-disciplined team with authentic leadership skills
  • Relevant Technical qualification - engineering discipline; electrical/mechanical, building and civil etc
  • Competent 'Authorised' Person in a relevant discipline
  • Familiarity with operating JSP 375 Safe Systems of Work
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
  • Previous management of supply chain experience
  • Commercial awareness
  • Previous budget responsibility
  • Continuous improvement and forward thinking mindset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to all levels within the organisation, and with customers and clients
  • Ability to be an effective team player within a management team
  • Capable of working on own initiative and without supervision
  • Flexible with the ability to work under pressure
  • IT literate with experience of Microsoft Office
  • Experience of working within PFI(s) highly desirable
