Senior International Legal Counsel

Job Introduction

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior International Legal Counsel. As Senior International Legal Counsel you will be a member of the Global Client Contracts team in the Sodexo’s Group Legal Department.  You will report to the Assistant General Counsel Global Client Contracts and provide high quality legal support to projects of strategic importance for the Group and/or spanning multiple jurisdictions. You will be working closely with Group Finance and other Group functions and subject matter experts (tax, insurance etc.) and engage with senior leadership, internal clients across the world and external clients’ global negotiations teams.  This position has no direct reports and will involve travel

 

Role Responsibility

·Act as lead lawyer for strategic projects focusing on the negotiation of international and/or country strategic client contracts (from RFP to drafting, negotiation and support of the local implementation)
 

·Support the Group Contract Management Team and local legal counsels regarding international and/or country strategic client contracts

·Contribute to compliance efforts (competition law, anti-corruption, data privacy…)
 

·Assist the network of lawyers supporting strategic accounts across the world, share legal tools and best practices

 

·Develop legal awareness and support initiatives to adapt our vast organization to the changing legal landscape and client needs

 

 
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

·Extensive commercial contracting experience required with strong financial acumen; general corporate, transactional and M&A experience is beneficial

·10+ years of relevant legal experience with combination of law firm and in-house experience

·Bar admission with good standing and LLM from a leading university, with knowledge of common and civil law systems

·International profile, able to work in multi-cultural environment

·Hard-working, hands-on attitude and ability to work under pressure with short turnarounds

·Capacity to anticipate legal issues, handle and resolve sensitive situations with diplomacy  

·Business-enabler, creative and with initiative to find practical solutions to business problems taking into consideration the commercial impact

·Able to manage autonomously complex processes and projects

·Excellent interpersonal skills; able to communicate, impact and influence effectively within multiple levels of the organization

·Service driven, flexible, intellectually curious and able to work collaboratively

·Sense of humor, ability to operate in a changing environment

·Excellent legal drafting (English) 

·Fluent in English and a second language

·Flexible for last-minute travel including international
