Senior Compliance Assistant (HR / Pre-Employment Vetting)
We are looking for someone to join our HR Service Centre to work as part of the Resourcing and Compliance Team in providing a remote and responsive compliance administration service. This role specialising in matters governed by UK employment legislation, with specific focus on Right to Work, DBS and Security Clearance for all our new starters and existing employees. We are looking for someone to provide advice to managers and employees regarding essential employee checks, taking into account any specific requirements. We have 34,000 employees within the UK and Ireland and some work within sensitive environments therefore this team is key in ensuring all the correct legal checks are processes are adhered to. The role involves phone and email contact with managers and employees with occasional face to face meetings; you will be case managing complex compliance requests and seeing these through to conclusion. The team work on a CSM system and all actions need to be updated using that tool. As part of the role you will liaise with relevant third parties such as UKBA and Safe Screening, develop and deliver training to up skill and educate managers via phone andWebEx.You will be managing right to work checks for new starters, ensuring satisfactory documentation has been provided, managing DBS, professional registration/qualification for new starters, ensuring necessary paperwork is actioned and processed. In addition you will be maintaining compliance records, ensuring both manual and electronic records are up to date and ensuring all hard and soft copy personnel records are maintained.
The Ideal Candidate
- Knowledge of compliance processes and matters surrounding eligibility to work in the UK, DBS, security clearance etc
- Practical knowledge of legislation, regulatory bodies and related processes
- Committed to providing a friendly and responsive customer service
- Ability to identify situations which require close management
- Well organised with ability to work to tight deadlines
- Strong understanding and respect for confidentiality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Maintains a professional conduct at all times, remaining calm and in control

20,000 - 25,000 depending on experience + bonus + benefits.
