Security Supervisor

Job Introduction

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Security Supervisor to join our team. Role Responsibility

  • Assist and support training needs to ensure they are identified and appropriate training & development is delivered.
  • Operationally support in delivery of the agreed service levels.
  • To assist with monthly audits on all Security practices and process
  • Support in delivery of SOP’s across the security team
  • Provide Operational support and act as a point of contact out of hours if and when required.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with all Health & Safety legislation.
  • Assist and be a point of contact for Incident Management, ensuring that incidents are correctly managed and escalated as per client specifications.
  • Ensure the security team is rostered and staffed as required
  • Management of the security team including distribution of daily rotas, daily briefings/roll call, administration and holiday management.
  • Other day-to-day responsibilities as dictated by circumstances and the needs of the business and client.
  • Client liaison, work closely with the Soft Services Manager
  • Ensure high standards are maintained at all times with a focus on maximising the output and performance of all team members.
  • Take co-responsibility for the induction and training of new starters, in conjunction with Sodexo Management.
  • Manage the provision of CCTV, access control systems and alarm systems.
  • Complete the required Incident reports in the event of an incident, focussing on quality and timely reporting.
  • Respond well to requests and changes.
  • Experience of working in multi-tasking environment.
  • Promote a secure and safe working environment on site through the implementation and continuous improvement of agreed Health and Safety actions.
  • Assist in leading the security team by fostering team spirit and co-operation, the encouragement of open expression of differing ideas and opinions and ensuring resolution.
  • Ensuring that any complaints are dealt with in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensuring that all equipment provided to assist security is fully operational with any issues reported.
  • Ensure that there is a robust and effective key control process in place.

The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications

  • SIA Security Guarding Licence

Experience

  • 3 -5 years Supervisory experience.

Package Description

Security Shift Supervisor has control of the day to day running of the Nestle Security Department, and is responsible to the Sodexo Soft Services Manager at Nestle York.

A key aspect of this responsibility is to deliver a consistently high standard of service to Sodexo and Nestle and to form close working partnerships with departments and where necessary to contractors to ensure delivery of their Security expectations and needs.

Assists with the development of the Security Department in line with Client business development and the Scope of Services, Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators that have been formally agreed with the Client.

The person must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Be well organised and methodical with the ability to multi-task and prioritise. They must be of smart and profession appearance at all times in line with Client policy.

They must have previous supervisory experience within a security / customer care environment, with knowledge and experience of building close working relationships with customers.

They must have the ability to make decisions and to direct all staff under their charge and to encourage team

co-operation/spirit

Good computer skills, excellent time keeping ability and a flexible ‘can-do’ approach to their work.

Maintain a full and continuing understanding of and adherence to all procedures, Emergency Response routines, and Emergency Evacuation procedures, Building Orientations, Standard Operating Procedures, Daily Briefings when required, Memorandums and Report Writing. To have full knowledge of the Site Duties and Supervisory procedures and to deputise for the Soft Services manager in relation to Security when required.
