Security Officer

Role Responsibility

As a Security Officer you could be responsible for:

 

  • Ad-hoc support for our security operations
  • Ensuring buildings, valuables or people are safe and secure
  • Patrolling, securing and monitoring premises, sometimes with the aid of closed circuit television (CCTV)
  • Supervising the door for a large organisation
  • Guarding cash or other valuables in transit in a security vehicle
  • Driving vehicles as and when required
  • Health and Safety and Evacuation procedures

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate for this role will have:

  • A full current driving licence
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent awareness skills
  • Experience in working in a similar role
  • A SIA Licence holder – Manned Guarding Licence, SIA Licence holder – CCTV desirable
  • Knowledge of security techniques
  • Knowledge of site and local emergency procedures

Scope:

Working a shift Monday – Friday 08.00 – 18.00hrs

 

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day security requirements a prestigious site, maintaining a good corporate image and high standards of professionalism. Pay rate between £10.20 per hour

 

Responsibilities:

a) Undertake patrols and inspections in accordance with management instructions.

b) Proficient use of relevant communications equipment will require candidate to have good communication skills.

c) Greet visitors and ensure relevant security procedures are carried out.

d) Ensuring all H&S policies are adhered to.

e) In addition to these functions employees are required to undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required.

f) Assist staff and visitors to the sites.

g) Ensuring that no un-authorised persons are permitted in prohibited areas.

h) Maintaining an accurate record of any incidents that occur.

Personal Specification:

a) Smart and confident.

b) Good communication skills, both written and verbal

c) Have a demonstrable and experienced knowledge of the security industry.

d) Able to be vetted back 5 years or since leaving compulsory education.

e) Current SIA license.
