Security Manager

Job Introduction

Are you a highly experienced security supervisor looking to take the next step in your career or perhaps a security manager with a view to develop into a facilities management role in future?

We have a great opening for a proactive team player to manage a 14-strong security team. You should have a proven track record in security team management, preferably covering man guarding, access control and CCTV operations. Excellent communication, leadership and customer service skills are a must.

You would be based on our prestigious client’s manufacturing site in Edmonton that operates 24/7. It is situated a short walk from public transport links and we also have free on-site parking. Sodexo also operates a subsidised canteen on site we fresh and nutritious food offering.

This role requires some flexibility to manage a team spanning over daytime and night time shifts, but we offer excellent work flexibility in return. Role Responsibility

• To support the Management Team with a 24-hour Security service and responsible for the smooth running of the security operation
• To check that Assignment Instructions are met as agreed by Secure and the Site Clients.
• Ensure completion of Secure ISO 9001 documentation
• Ensure all Health and Safety documentation has been fully completed.
• To be responsible for checking the SIA licensing paperwork, process and screening records of staff and to ensure information is given to Secure ready for processing.
• Liaise with Security Officers and the Site Supervisors, on the planning of daily and shift activities, ensuring adequate staffing levels.
• To provide an immediate response and ongoing support as required during Site emergencies.
• To check all Guards, wear the full Security uniform at all time unless authorised otherwise.
• Ensure all officers complete the Secure Bronze induction plan.
• Aid the planning and training of Sodexo staff working at the Site.  Maintain training records.
• Assist with the recruitment, induction, training, motivation and appraisal of staff to promote good employee relations and operate within Company procedures, legislation and the Investors in People standards. 
• To monitor and minimise the use of relief staff to keep actual wage percentage to budgeted levels or below.
• Ensure that all equipment is in safe working order, checked regularly and serviced.  Report any faults to management/the client, ensure they are rectified and ensure equipment is not used until safe.

The Ideal Candidate

• SIA Licence holder (advantageous if you have a CCTV licence)
• Sound knowledge of Security techniques
• Good IT skills
• Experience of CCTV operation
• Knowledge of alarms and access control operation
• Customer Service skills
• Working Knowledge of BS7858:2013
• Ability to work to set KPI’s
