Sodexo are recruiting for an experienced Security Manager for a high-level client site in Essex, just outside M25. Our ideal candidate will have a substantial security management experience as well as sound commercial acumen and excellent communication skills.

Role Responsibility

  • To manage the effective operation of the security service across the site on a daily basis.
  • Supporting & maintaining contract retention through living the Sodexo values and by building key relation-ships with the relevant client stakeholders
  • Monitor the financial performance of the security contract, and to conduct the necessary investigations and improvement plans in conjunction with the operational team
  • To ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • To process all holiday requests, manage security staff attendance records including sickness and annual leave.
  • To train newly appointed security officers.
  • Maintain standards of Discipline and welfare amongst all team members in accordance with the company policies and values
  • To liaise with Sodexo and Client personnel as necessary and as instructed in order to ensure the provision of an efficient and effective service.
  • To prioritise tasks and respond to ad hoc requests.
  • To complete and submit report forms relating to any accident/incident involving any member of staff, or visitors.
  • To ensure the necessary internal security audits are undertaken and provide a detailed action plan and manage all non-compliance.
  • Understand client requirements and provide security solutions to meet and exceed needs and contribute to achieving customer objectives.
  • To respond immediately to intruder/panic/fire alarms upon activation.
  • To attend any major incident as required.
  • To document all incidents in the daily occurrence book.
  • To report any faults to the works department.
  • To provide written reports and witness statements to the Police if required.
  • To attend Magistrate or Crown court to give evidence if required.
  • To enforce Sodexo security related procedures including CCTV, Violence and car parking.
  • To improve security awareness by directing people towards sources of advice or information.
  • To monitor the CCTV system, access control system, fire alarm system and panic alarm system

Essential

  • To be able to develop and build good client & customer relationships
  • Security experience with strong commercial & communication skills
  • Financial acumen
  • Relationship management
  • To be able to prioritise tasks
  • To be able to respond to a variety of needs and work pressures created by colleagues and members of the public including rapid response emergencies
  • A knowledge of health and safety
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A Background in Security services
  • Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality issues
  • All employees are expected to adhere to Sodexo health and safety regulations and Equal opportunity regulations
  • To be able to write accurate, legible operational logs, security reports and statements

Desirable

  • Presentation skills
  • Understanding of Integrated Facilities Management
