Sales and Marketing Manager

Job Introduction

Are you creative and able to think on your feet? Due to continued innovation and development of our student catering and retail offer at Coventry University, we have an opportunity for a Sales & Marketing Manager. This exciting role is pivotal in the creation and execution of the overall marketing strategy for the University, looking at innovative ways to attract and engage students in our catering and retail services.

In this role, you will manage the day to day marketing activity for the University, as well as deliver a sales and marketing annual programme and drive the digital roadmap. Role Responsibility

  • Develop and implement the annual marketing calendar for catering, sustainability and retail outlets aligned with key dates, Sodexo initiatives and University activity
  • Drive the effective deployment of the offer support materials provided by the Sodexo marketing team and core vendors and feedback on results
  • Develop and drive relevant local marketing campaigns that will effectively engage with the student body, communicate catering offers and ultimately drive outlet footfall
  • Create all materials to advertise campaigns and communicate through relevant social media and university communication channels
  • Research local competition and use the intelligence to the profitability of the business
  • Undertake customer research, communicate results and implement solutions. Achieved through running focus groups and forums
  • Ensure Sodexo’s and the University’s sustainability approach is aligned and promoted, continually looking to innovate
  • Take on Segment Marketing projects as directed by the Marketing Manager
  • Develop and coordinate an annual calendar of promotional events in collaboration with suppliers and local enterprises
     

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience within a Sales and Marketing role, with evidence of successful campaigns and strategies
  • Demonstrable experience or knowledge of the food retail/casual dining market
  • Organised and methodical, able to multi task and plan and prioritise work accordingly and under pressure
  • Ideally a knowledge or insight into the student/University market
  • Articulate and thorough, showing attention to detail
  • Strong experience of digital platforms and social media
  • Demonstrates good inter-personal skills and develops relationships based on mutual respect and professionalism
  • Educated to Degree/A-level standard with GCSE/O’level Maths and English (or equivalent) essential
