Retail Catering Manager (Food Services)

This is a great opportunity to join one of our growing retail accounts within our Healthcare segment, where you can contribute to providing our patients, staff and visitors with the high quality facilities and services they require. All done in a timely, responsive, cost-effective and pro-active manner, ensuring targets and legal requirements are maintained.

This is a really exciting opportunity to join Sodexo, as we are currently undergoing changes and site improvements. We are developing our retail offer at the University Hospital of South Manchester, Wythenshawe and would really benefit from an experienced Retail Manager who can bring enthusiasm and innovation.

Ideally, we are seeking a candidate with 'like for like' experience and skill set.  However, if you have proven leadership within any sector and have worked in retail in any capacity during your career then we would like to hear from you. We are looking for someone who has strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients, and staff at all levels, along with good time management and organisational skills.

Role Responsibility

  • Plan, organise and coordinate all retail activity within the contract
  • Drive retail performance through adherence to all promotional activity and marketing initiatives
  • Ensure standards of service detailed in the service level agreement and within the schedules of the contractual terms and conditions are achieved, maintained and developed
  • Ensure retail margins are improved upon and budgetary requirements are met
  • Deploy a Retail team, assessing workload schedules and allocating resource as required whilst prioritising urgent requests
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with staff, clients and other departmental managers
  • Day to day management of employee absence using time and attendance package

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience in Retail
  • Strong management experience or supervision of supervisors
  • Experience in delivering training in Retail, using company guidelines
  • Effective communication and customer care skills with patients, visitors, customers, clients, and staff
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Financial awareness in managing budgets
  • Understanding of relevant Health and Safety, employment and other legislative requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to standards
  • Proven IT skills, ability to demonstrate working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
