Food and Beverage Manager

Job Introduction

We have an excellent opportunity for a Restaurant Manager to look after the day to day running of the Gateway Restaurant at the Botanic Gardens; this role will include all staff training, HACCAP, budget control, labour management and food production. The restaurant brings a vital revenue stream to the account so it is essential that the Manager runs it as a profitable catering operation which sits comfortably in the framework of an independent restaurant with a strong community feel. The Restaurant Manager is a practical, hands-on role, with much of their working hours spent in the service area, with office time built in for administration work.

Role Responsibility

This varied role will take full responsibility for the effective operation of the restaurant, reviewing sales, agreeing target and looking for opportunities for improvements. Working with the General Manager, you will monitor and manage maintenance issues, promote health and safety and ensure all relevant legislation is adhered to with regard to licensing. Managing the team you will promote team development, run meetings and help foster an engaged workforce.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Excellent working knowledge of excel, word and windows package
  • Experience of working in events office 
  • Great interpersonal skills with both internal and external clients
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and best way to use is an advantage
  • Impeccable grooming standards
  • Hold valid ‘Intermediate Food Hygeine’ certificate
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • High standards of personal presentation
  • IOSH Managing Safety certificate
  • Able to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays
  • Good awareness of industry standards
