Relief Team Senior Supervisor – Domestic (Cleaning)

Job Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit Senior Domestic Support Worker’s to form part of our Relief Team, to work on varied cleaning tasks within a number of sites across the Imperial Contract, covering absences, emergencies and cleaning projects at short notice.

You’ll maintain a clean, safe and hygienic patient environment in line with National Specifications for Cleanliness, ensuring patients receive care in an environment that is clean, safe and welcoming all of the time.

Role Responsibility

  • Respond to any cleaning requests on any Imperial site complying with infections prevention and control and management instruction
  • Working independently as a part of the Relief Team you will carry out a range of cleaning activities including mopping, sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, emptying bins, changing curtains and cleaning wash rooms/toilets /offices
  • Use electric cleaning equipment including floor cleaning equipment
  • Undertake all cleaning duties in a safe manner, using PPE and hazard signs as appropriate
  • Replenish consumables (i.e. paper towels, toilet rolls, soap, etc)
  • Store and use cleaning equipment and materials safely and efficiently and in compliance with COSSH
  • Use only approved cleaning equipment and materials in accordance with training and instructions provided
  • Empty and dispose of domestic and clinical waste in accordance with the Client’s infection prevention and control and waste disposal policies

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of working within a cleaning team in a similar environment (although full training will be given)
  • Empathy with patients and visitors and a commitment to treat everyone with courtesy and dignity and to enhance the patient experience
  • Ability to work independently, flexibly and professionally – dealing with stressful and changeable situations
  • Effective communication and customer care skills
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to standards
  • Good communication and literacy skills
