Recovery Worker

Working in an innovative, highly pressured and dynamic women’s Prison as a member of our new Recovery Service within Healthcare, you will bring your experience of working in the substance misuse field with clients from a marginalised community.

You will offer psycho social interventions for service users, from the point of entry into the prison system to re-entry into the community.

You'll help and encourage service users to overcome their substance misuse issues, thus reducing their Re-offending and improving every aspect of their lives

Role Responsibility

  • Holding a large case load, working with clients from diverse background, and who often have very complex needs, you will act as their case worker offering one to one support and psycho social interventions to help in their rehabilitation process.
  • Bulding effective working relationships with other services inside and outside of the Prison, ensuring that service users have an excellent quality of service and to ensure effective joined up working.
  • Contributing towards the SJS (Sodexo Justice Services) Recovery and Substance Misuse Agenda, encouraging, motivating and supporting clients through their recovery.
  • Compiling and maintaining a high standard of case notes and records in accordance with Clinical governance.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Commitment to and understanding of approaches to supporting drug users’ recovery journeys
  • Sound knowledge of drugs, including alcohol, and their effects
  • Knowledge of the issues surrounding blood borne viruses and sexual health
  • Experience of working in the substance misuse field with clients from a marginalised community.
  • An ability to create comprehensive care plans & tailor your interventions to the needs of your service users.
  • Ability to manage a large client caseload of often challenging clients.
  • Well organised and have good time management skills.
  • Ability to keep good clinical notes in accordance with Clinical governance.
  • A non judgemental attitude and the ability to build instant rapport with the service users.
  • Commitment to and understanding of equal opportunities.
  • Ability to liaise and develop links with statutory and non-statutory agencies.
  • A commitment to working in partnership with others, and of being a good team player.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Understanding of issues relating to mental health and self-harm
  • To be a good role model to the service users.

 

Desirable

  • Experience of delivering group work, including AA, NA and SMART Groups.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Criminal Justice System.
  • Training and presentation skills.
  • Experience of working with offenders.
  • Counselling skills

Package Description

£19,832.72 + LW £279.91 per month, plus benefits including free meals and parking, subsidised Gym membership, group discount scheme, pension etc
