Job description
Purpose of the Job:
As part of our Switchboard Team based in Hereford you will provide a full telephony service for our internal and external clients and customers. The switchboard runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and therefore it is essential that the team are all able to work within a shift pattern, across these hours, to cover the needs of the service.
Main Assignments:
- Effectively operate the switchboard and associated systems;
- Answer all calls politely and promptly;
- Telephone and face to face liaison with staff and contractors;
- Operate and update the paging and bleep system;
- Initiate internal procedures on activation of an emergency call or alarm.

The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate for this role will have:
- Reception experience, ideally in a Corporate environment
- Exceptional front of house and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- Knowledge of switchboard systems (advantageous)
- A flexible “can do” attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to multi-task within a fast paced environment
