Prison Substance Misuse Nurse

Sodexo Justice are looking for passionate nurses who can demonstrate innovative ways to improve the recovery outcomes of our substance misuse patients.

Awarded a bronze accreditation by Investors in People, HMP YOI Bronzefield focuses on providing needs-based services and programmes aimed at rehabilitating and maintaining the well-being of prisoners. HMP YOI Bronzefield is an all female prison that can hold up to 527 women.

Sodexo Justice delivers custodial and community rehabilitation services that challenge offending behaviour, protect the public and offer individuals the opportunity to change their lives for the better. We deliver the total operation of five prisons within England, Scotland and Wales and own six Community Rehabilitation Companies in partnership with crime reduction charity Nacro.

Role Responsibility

The Person:

You will be part of a friendly & proactive team and be able to work under pressure to meet the service needs of the female prison population. Your understanding and knowledge of pharmacology in relation to substance misuse issues is beneficial but, not essential

The skills and experiences that we’re looking for:

  • experience of working in a multi-disciplinary framework and the prison environment
  • flexible approach and the ability to deliver care in an environment that has changing priorities
  • experience of work with Substance Misusers
  • sound clinical or substance misuse knowledge
  • organisational skills
  • assessment skills, including an understanding of risk assessments
  • awareness of health issues relating to substance misuse
  • ability to use holistic approaches and treat patients as unique individuals

The Ideal Candidate

Essential qualifications:

A Registered Nurse (RGN / RMN) qualification

A current registration with the NMC (RGN /RMN) and a legal right to work in the UK Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and Mandatory Training.

Desirable:

RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse

RCGP 2 in Substance Misuse

Package Description

Starting salary of £32,447.86 + London Weighting £287.75 per month and excellent benefits including training, personal development programmes, healthcare, pension, flexible working hours, bonuses; cycle to work schemes, free parking, free meals, free gym membership, childcare vouchers, free uniform, and location is within easy reach to buses and train stations.

 Full and part time hours are available and you are expected to work across 7 days through a team self rostering shift pattern system - standard shifts are three long days.
