PowerApps System Developer

Job Introduction

Sodexo UK & Ireland are about to embark on an exciting 2.5 year project to deploy a workforce management solution, delivering a multi-million pound saving this is a prestigious project and one of the largest within the region. To enable us to deliver this solution we’re looking for an experienced PowerApps Developer to become part of our project team.

You’ll be an experienced PowerApps developer with a proven track record in architecting, designing and delivering PowerApps solutions within a project framework. You’ll have good working knowledge of the Microsoft Power platform including Flows, Common Data Service for Apps, Azure, Active Directory, Office 365, SQL Server, SharePoint, Data Lake and Power BI. You will have experience in cross-training and handover to in-house staff in PowerApps.

Based in our Salford office with flexible working accommodated, reporting into the Development Manager and part of a wider team of seven, you’ll be able to quickly embed into the position and bring an extensive knowledge of PowerApps. This position is offered on a fixed term contract of 2.5 years.

Role Responsibility

  • Assists in all phases of the development and maintenance of IT systems
  • Obtains a sound business knowledge areas being supported
  • Ensures work assigned is completed adhering to SLAs, departmental standards and within the timescales given
  • Liaises with users and other IT staff as necessary to ensure that data, systems, hardware and working practices are fully integrated
  • Assists in the detailed analysis and design of any projects under development
  • Conducts testing of solutions to ensure they work as intended
  • Possesses a sound knowledge of the applications supported by the team so that any production errors can be handled in the most efficient manner
  • Assists in all aspects of system implementation

 

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Current PowerApps development experience, including experience in best practices for building canvas apps, Flows and Common Data Service for Apps
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Power platform including Azure, Active Directory, Office 365, Sharepoint, SQL Server, Data Lake and Power BI.
  • Experience in integration of data from external systems and on-premises data sources
  • Experience in Application Lifecycle Management, managing multiple environments, Development Methods, Techniques and Standards e.g. Agile, SSADM, DSDM.
  • Knowledge of required Programming Languages to write source code from a given specification
  • Usage of Application Development Tools which automate or assist part of the development process
  • Familiar with Database Software which enables the user to create, populate and manipulate data structures
  • Familiar with code management tools such as Microsoft Team Foundation Server
  • Experience of estimating, planning and delivering to timescales within the framework of projects
  • Experience of Quality Assurance techniques and Structured Reviews i.e. methods and techniques for structured reviews, including reviews of technical diagrams, test plans, business cases and any other key deliverables e.g.peer review, formal technical review, Fagan inspection
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organisation including experience of communicating technical information to a non technical audience.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism and commitment to the company, the Systems Development Team and the IS&T department.
  • Successful proven experience in Software application support
  • Flexible with ability to travel as per business demands

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the IT infrastructure (hardware, databases, operating systems, local area networks etc) used within own organisation
  • Familiar with Information Capture Techniques - The selection and application of information gathering methods, tools and techniques which are appropriate to the information required and the sources available
  • Familiar with the purpose and composition of a service level agreement (SLA); the relationship between an SLA and a contract for the supply of services
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • An understanding of Sodexo as a business and the processes the company adopts.
  • Knowledge of generic project management principles
  • ITIL Certification
