Patient Dining Porter

Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for a casual Patient Dining Porter to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression.

Role Responsibility

  • Comply with all Company and client policies, procedures and statutory regulations, including human resources, site rules, health and safety , safe working practices , hygiene, cleanliness, fire, COSHH. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards in your work place
  • Deliver food trolleys to wards
  • Delivery of milk/ bread to all wards and departments in timelt mannere
  • Reciving and checking off deliveries to patient dining
  • Highlighting any shortages or damages on deliveries to supervisor
  • Putting away deliveries in correct areas, stock room , freezer and fridges
  • Work in pot wash using dishwasher, cleaning crockery , cutlery from wards
  • Delivering requested meals/ supplements to wards, ensuring call backs are signed for and brought back to catering department in a timely manner
  • Working in cold room , picking and packing food trolleys for patients meals
  • Carry out cleaning duties within the patient catering service
  • Put together ward stock orders correctly and deliver to wards
  • Attend training and team huddles
  • Cleaning of dishwasher and pot wash area to food and hygiene safety standards
  • Checking of all food dates when putting away deliveries and stock rotation is adhered to
  • Using cleaning equipment to manufacturers standards
  • Inform supervisor of any faulty equipment
  • Promote a friendly working atmosphere with colleagues
  • Keeping all work areas clean and tidy throughout the shift
  • Promote a good company image to visitors and patients by using positive customer service practices.
  • To undertake occasional duties outside the normal routine but within the scope of the position and the department’s activities.
  • To report any complaint or compliment to supervisor and manager.
  • To report any incident of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage and take action as may be appropriate or possible.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Good communications skills
  • Numeracy and written skills
  • Experience of working in a similar industry such as food service, catering or hospitality.
  • Previous food handling experience
  • Ability to adhere to all health & safety practices
  • Strong customer service skills
  • High levels of personal hygiene and appearance

 

Desirable

  •  Basic Certificate in general hygiene
  • Experience of working in an environment where compliance to standards is key

Package Description

Hard working, dedicated, attention to detail patient dining food assistant required for a prestigious children hospital.

Previous catering experience to level 2 food safety a distinct advantage and knowledge of diets an advantage as is a recognised catering qualification.

Shifts 5 from 7 ranging from 0700-1500, 1000-1800 and 1100-1900 Monday to Sunday as required  to support the needs of the business.

3 month Fixed term position.

Good standard of IT, and telephone skill, customer skills.

Great training and development.
