PR Manager
Job Introduction
We currently have a fantastic opportunity to recruit a full time in-house PR professional to pro-actively seek PR opportunities for the company. Reporting to Press & PR Director the role is part of a very busy central press and PR team and will focus on the company’s UK and Ireland business. You will be responsible for protecting and enhancing our corporate reputation and provide corporate and segment PR support.
General responsibilities will include handling press enquiries, writing press releases, features, advertorials, opinion pieces, organising photo calls and interviews, you will build relationships with the relevant national trade and regional media.
This role would ideally suit candidates with experience of working in major private and/or public sector institutions in corporate PR. The role offers a competitive salary plus annual bonus and the ability to progress your career within a global organisation.
Role Responsibility
- Deal with media enquiries within deadlines and with approved responses.
- Identify, explore and execute PR opportunities.
- Draft, manage and implement PR and communications plans.
- Achieve positive media coverage in trade, regional and national media.
- Develop strong media contacts.
- Manage issues and develop appropriate responses.
- Develop strong internal relationships.
- Work effectively as part of a team.
The Ideal Candidate
- Current experience in a PR role.
- Strong ability to successfully secure and generate consistent positive media coverage both locally and nationally, and ability to find creative media solutions and generate new ideas
- Experience of dealing with journalists.
- Pro-active and re-active press and PR experience.
- Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
Desirable
- Crisis communications expertise.
- Knowledge and/or experience in working with major private and public sector institutions, stakeholders and NGOs such as blue chip companies, the NHS, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Justice..
- Experience of dealing with national media.
