Offshore Chef/Baker

Due to continued growth, Sodexo has an exciting opportunity for 4 Offshore Chef/Bakers to work on our client installations in the North Sea.

As an integral member of the team you will contribute to the provision of quality laundry, accommodation, mess room and janitorial services whilst adhering to health & safety policies at all times.

Role Responsibility

• Managing and rotating stock to ensure minimum wastage and achievement of contract food costs
• Ensuring the standards relating to food and cleaning service are maintained at all times
• Investigate and report customer complaints immediately and take the agreed corrective action
• Assist head chef/chef manager in ensuring that any duties carried out under their control are done so safely
• Ensure all catering equipment is operated and maintained in a safe and clean manner
• Ensure all duties and responsibilities are undertaken in full compliance of the Health and Safety at Work Act
• Report any incident of fire, loss, damage unfit food and other irregularities or contract deviations and take corrective action
• Assist Head chef/chef manager with environmental objectives 
• Assist head chef/chef manager in ensuring catering budgeting requirements are consistently adhered to and the efficient use of all resources

The Ideal Candidate

Some things we need you to have...

• A great attitude and willingness to learn new skills in a fast paced environment
• City and Guilds (or equivalent) 706/1 and 706/2, basic food hygiene certificates and a bakery qualification
• Great communication and team work skills
• A passion for delivering outstanding customer service
• BOSIET or FOET
• CA-EBS
• OGUK Medical
• MIST

Ideally, you will also have...

• Food Safety Level 2
• Offshore First Aid Certificate

You should also be aware...

• This role involves working away from home for extended periods of time.
• Sometimes, you may be asked to extend your trip beyond what was originally planned.
• Experience in a similar position offshore is desirable but not essential as long as the candidate has their baking qualifications and similar experience onshore

Package Description

• COTA grade D package
• Fixed term contract, after which a review will take place which may lead to extension of your contract.
