Multi Skilled Building Fabric and Plumbing Engineer

Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for a Multi Skilled Building Fabric and Plumbing Engineer to join our team. Role Responsibility

  • Undertake reactive and planned maintenance works activities including plumbing, wet trades, carpentry, glazing etc to a wide range of buildings inc domestic, commercial and industrial.
  • To be conversant with and able to carry out inspections in accordance with current regulations for work on domestic and commercial installations.
  • To inspect, order materials for and complete tasked works in a timely and efficient manner.
  • To liaise with customers to arrange appointments, access and to discuss works.
  • Carry out and complete all works to a high standard and in a competent manner with the property being left in a clean and tidy condition
  • To liaise with other staff as necessary to ensure the timely completion of works within agreed operational targets
  • Must be qualified holding current appropriate certification for the position.
  • Be an essential part of the local team who will ensure that all works are carried out in a safe manner.
  • To be part of the out of hours to provide on call standby as required.
  • To undertake weekend/out of hours working, if required, to complete intrusive maintenance activities that cannot be undertaken in client operating hours.
  • Take part in Appraisals/Performance Reviews including the recognition of training and development needs.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Current qualifications in relevant trades for commercial and domestic applications
  • Current full UK Driving Licence.
  • Excellent communications both written and verbal.
  • Numerate and computer literate (Excel, Word and Outlook).
  • Experience in carpentry, plumbing, wet trades, glazing and associated maintenance skills.

The maintenance operative role is a varied and challenging one where no day is the same. As a Maintenance Operative, working within a friendly and supportive team you will be playing a vital role in

* Providing reactive and planned maintenance services

* Resolving a variety of general maintenance issues and problems including:

> Window and door repairs

> Basic plastering for example repairing holes in walls

> Basic domestic plumbing

> Completing planned inspections and rectifying any remedial work

> Completing like for like electrical changes, including safety isolation

> Ensuring that all works are conducted to the highest safety and quality standards and in line with regulations

> Fulfilling the varied administration and auditing requirements

> Following customer or property related issues

> Working with suited locking systems, both mechanical and electronic

 

Although you may have not worked in facilities management previously what is important is that you:

> Have previous experience of reactive and planned maintenance

> Have experience in a customer facing role

> Have developed an understanding of Health and Safety legislation

> Possess a full UK driving licence

> Are a first class team player who demonstrates a positive and collegiate attitude

> Can work flexible hours ( including weekends), taking part in the on call
