Mechanical Craftsperson (Hard FM)

Job Introduction

As Maintenance Craftsperson (Mechanical) you’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary team based at Central Manchester Hospitals. You’ll provide a full range of maintenance services across the site, working as a member of a multi-skilled team.

Role Responsibility

• Carry out a wide range of tasks including Planned Preventative Maintenance, fault diagnosis and rectification and general repairs to mechanical plant services and control systems
• Planned Plumbing Preventative Maintenance and general repairs to heating and air handling plant
• Preparation of pressure vessels for insurance survey
• Use of relevant tools and equipment
• Comply with health and safety requirements, understanding and using safe working practices
• Interpret and work from all instructions, drawings and specifications
• Maintain and effectively run plant and equipment
• Be prepared to undertake training when required.

The Ideal Candidate

• Recognised and registered CITB or EITB apprenticeship or an equivalent qualification. Plus A – CGL1 certificate in Course 205 Mechanical Engineering Maintenance part II
• Relevant experience within trade
• Working knowledge of H&S Legislation and HTM’s
• Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge
• Good communications both written and verbal
• Numerate and computer literate
• Effective Team Player

Package Description

Salary, Band 4 £19,409.00 - £22,683 from April 1st 2017 + Short Term RRP £3,500.00 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications

37.5 hours per week with 30 minute unpaid lunch break

Hours – Monday – Friday 08:00am – 4:00pm

27 days holiday starting, 29 after 5 years’ service & 33 after 10 years’ service

Participate in the weekly On Call rota (approx. 1 in 6) £100.15 standby payable, call outs are paid at x 1.5 rate & x 2 on Sundays and bank holidays
