Meal Driver
Job Introduction
Job Purpose:
- Responsible to ensure the delivery of meals to service users is compliant to all company process & procedures and the food safety act.
Responsible for:
Delivery of meals to individual service users units within the agreed delivery window and compliance to company standards.
Key Tasks:
- Drive a vehicle to deliver meals
- Complete associated paperwork
- Build service user relationships & confidence
- Follow process and procedures
Role Responsibility
Complete hygiene & safety checks on the vehicle in accordance with the maintenance checklist. Reporting any defects to the appropriate supervisor.
Following all process and procedures in carrying out meal deliveries.
To deliver meals following a daily delivery round sheet and maintain accurate and appropriate records as instructed.
To drive using safe techniques and in compliance to the highway code and road traffic act.
To be polite and courteous to service users .
To be responsible for the internal and `external cleaning of the vehicle on a regular basis or as instructed.
To maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and managers and follow all reasonable management instruction.
To attend relevant training as identified through personal development interviews.
The Ideal Candidate
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
Knowledge of the road traffic act and ability to read and follow instruction
Basic knowledge of the food safety act the ability to read and follow instructions.
Ability to read and follow an A- Z map and written instructions, and complete forms in clear eligible handwriting.
To hold a full driving licence
Ability to read and follow instructions
Ability to communicate with a variety of people
Ability to read and follow instructions
Ability to use mechanical instruments i.e. jet wash and vacuum.
Ability to communicate and follow instructions
Ability to follow instruction & training
Competencies:
- Good communication skills
- Self motivated team player
- Able to follow & interpret all written and verbal instruction
- Hold a full driving Licence
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene
- A knowledge & understanding of the highway code & road traffic act
