Mail Room Porter

Job Introduction

The purpose of the job is to provide an efficient, professional mail service to our Clients and on site Contractors so involves sorting the incoming mail, delivering the mail correctly and timely and franking outgoing mail. There is also a requirement to organise and support stationery deliveries which involves manual handling

Role Responsibility

  • To assist with and attend to help desk related queries.
  • To assist the Building services team with the efficient delivery, collection, sorting and franking of post and goods. To ensure that all items are delivered within the specified timescales
  • To ensure all incoming mail and goods are checked for suspicious content and raising any concern with the line manager. Utilising the x-ray scanner when applicable
  • To monitor and replenish print paper
  • To assist with building safety checks
  • To assist the Building Services team in small moves and changes and meeting room set-ups throughout the building.
  • To provide cover in other areas of the Building Services Team
  • To report, log & monitor building related issues
  • To attend meetings and training sessions as may be necessary from time to time
  • Adhere to the company security procedures and maintain client confidentiality at all times
  • To report and where possible take action in cases of incidents, accidents, fire, theft, loss or any other damage occurred or other irregularities
  • To report and where possible take action concerning customer complaints, requests or compliments
  • Effectively contribute to the performance of services through evaluation, review and innovation
  • Promote a good company image to customers and guests by using positive customer service practices.
  • To undertake occasional duties outside the normal routine but within the scope of the position and the department’s activities.
  • To provide cover to Document and Archiving
  • Adhere to the company security procedures and maintain client confidentiality at all times
  • To maintain a satisfactory relationship with Client and Sodexo staff at all times
  • Deliver high standards of personal performance and appearance at all times
 

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate must have excellent verbal and written skills, strong customer service skills as well as having competent IT skills.

Package Description

Mail Room/Building Services Porter

To deliver a 5 star customer service whilst assisting in general building services activities including the efficient delivery, collection and sorting of post and goods received, event room set up and premises helpdesk requests.

Operating within the Premises & Facilities team and working together with the building Services team.

This role forms part of a wider team that provides a number of services to the client within their UK office.

There are approximately 70 Sodexo employees on site & 700 client employees
