Learning and Development Manager

Job Introduction

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career at Coventry University – An exciting new business for Sodexo Universities. In this role, you will work closely with the senior management team to develop the learning agenda and promote a learning culture within the University. You will promote and develop a learning culture within the establishment by managing a range of learning and development activities which are aligned to the business strategy and comply with contractual and legislative requirements.

Role Responsibility

  • Promote a learning culture throughout the establishment by planning, co-ordinating and delivering a range of learning solutions which are aligned to the business strategy at both local and national levels, that comply with contractual and legislative requirements.
  • Monitor and report on learning activity to meet contract, organisation and legislative requirements.
  • Identify talent and plan development of individuals
  • Manage the complete learning and development cycle for Sodexo teams at the University– including learning needs analysis, implementation of learning activities and mandatory training e.g. Health and Safety and Food Safety.
  • Consistent delivery of central L&D curriculum to the required standards
  • Ensuring that any legislative qualification that is needed is met and kept current, may need to be accredited to deliver IOSH and Food safety training
  • Identify, manage and communicate with all required business stakeholders
  • Work with L&D Business Partners to build excellent relationships in the business
  • Work on specialised projects and support learning design when appropriate and if required
     

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Previous experience as a Learning and Development or Training Manager
  • Hold certificate in Learning and Development, such as GTC, CTA etc.
  • Experience in managing, co-ordinating and delivering learning and development activities.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working in a similar role with multiple stakeholders to support.
  • Ability to rapidly adapt to changing priorities.
  • Capacity to innovate and work pro-actively.
  • Experience in facilitation as well as presenting to groups.

Desirable

  • Hold CIPD,CPT,CPP qualification(s)
  • Previous experience in the set up and development of a learning and development function for a similar organisation
  • Experience in promoting a diversity and inclusion agenda.
