Learning & Development (L&D) Manager - part time 32 hrs

Job Introduction

We’re looking for a Learning & Development (L&D) Team Leader who can take on a duel role within our L&D team based in Salford.

Responsible for the team of L&D Assistants day to day management you’ll lead and support them so they can continue to provide a customer focused, accurate and efficient Learning and Development administration and query handling service. You’ll coordinate their daily tasks, identify opportunities for improving processes and ensure all work is completed within PeopleCentre agreed timescales.

The second element of your role will be to deliver strategic change within the Learning Management System (LMS Corner Stone), you’ll work closely with the wider L&D stakeholder group and be comfortable working in a transformation environment which means you’ll be able to build strong relationships. You’ll need to be able to quickly adapt to changing priorities and strategy whilst remaining customer service focused and committed to providing a helpful, and responsive service.

This position is offered on a part time basis of 32 hours per week with a salary of £24,000 per annum.

Role Responsibility

Change:

  • Be the first point of contact for Learning and Development projects involving administration
  • Ensure implementation of Learning and Development projects which impact admin focusing on:
    • Communication
    • Training the assistants on the change
    • Implementing and testing LMS changes
  • Identify better ways of working for the team and embed a culture of raising issues and continuous improvement within the team
  • Support delivery of PeopleCentre strategy

People:

  • Identify ways to motivate, engage and develop the Learning and Development Assistants, through designing development plans and through team huddles and regular team briefings
  • Work collaboratively with other teams within PeopleCentre providing cover and support when necessary
  • Build and maintain a strong and professional relationship with stakeholders, ensuring they are updated in a timely manner
  • Completing team PDRs, carrying out 1:1s, recruitment of new team members, new starter inductions and deliver necessary training to new starters 

System Maintenance:

  • Work closely with the HR Analytics team within PeopleCentre to provide regular and ad hoc reporting for applicable stakeholders
  • Ensure use of and accurate maintenance of learning management systems – Corner Stone

The Ideal Candidate

What’s essential:

  • Proven experience of using and managing change within a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Experience in change management: project organization & planning, managing expectations, communication, upskilling teams, and escalating where applicable
  • Excellent team management skills
  • Strong excel and reporting skills

 

Where we can be flexible:

  • Although previous experience in the Corner Stone LMS would be advantageous it is not essential, we would welcome someone who has a strong understanding of other LMS systems.
