Larder - Chef De Partie

Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for a Larder - Chef De Partie to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression.

Role Responsibility

  • Complete all mandatory training as directed by the Head Chef and deliver training.
  • Deliver all mandatory training to direct reports including, GREAT training, competency checks and PDR’s.
  • Comply with all Company and statutory regulations relating to Health & Safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH. This will include awareness of any specific hazards in the work place.
  • Provide high personal standards of performance, hygiene, appearance and cleanliness at all times.
  • Ensure that the Company's standards of cleanliness are achieved and maintained through effective management of the kitchen team.
  • Ensure that all health and safety procedures are followed and documentation completed in relation to all kitchen practices and procedures.
  • Ensure that goods are checked against the order and any shortfalls/damages recorded and the relevant parties notified in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all goods are quickly and correctly stored away on rotation system.
  • Ensure that Sodexo’s policies and procedures in relation to purchasing and the use of nominated suppliers is adhered to at all times.
  • Manage and oversee the preparation of all cold production for the Nestle York site.
  • Oversee and support any special ad-hoc functions, some of which may occur outside working hours.
  • Report immediately any incidents of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage, unfit food or other irregularities and take such action as may be appropriate. Ensure team compliance.
  • Ensure that the onsite maintenance procedures are adhered to and report immediately and cease to use any faulty equipment. Ensure team compliance.
  • Wear correct uniform at all times, including the use of PPE as instructed by the Head Chef. Ensure team compliance.
  • Champion the Sodexo H&S culture through the reporting of all near misses to the Head Chef. Ensure team compliance.
  • Work and support in all business areas on site.
  • Carry out other reasonable tasks as directed by management.
 

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a similar role within the service industry at a comparable level        
  • Good interpersonal skills, must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication with customers, clients and team members
  • Good knowledge of health & safety and food safety
  • Able to work on own initiative and within a team environment
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards
  • Analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions
  • Hospitality, restaurant and fine dining experience
  • 7061/7062 or equivalent as a minimum
  • IT skills illiterate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Level 3 Food Safety

Desirable

  • Demonstrative customer focus and service skills
  • Experience working in a standards /compliance environment
