Labourer/Driver

Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for a Labourer/Driver to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression.

Role Responsibility

  • To remain compliant with current legislative driving regulations and Sodexo transport policy and procedures.
  • To provide transport to and from work locations in a timely manner to meet staff shift patterns, working to a set pattern as laid down by your Line Manager.
  • To keep the vehicles provided clean, fuelled, and well maintained, informing your Line Manager of service requirements or defects in writing using the correct reporting procedure, and completion of all other vehicle related documentation on a daily and Month End basis.
  • To ensure that passengers adhere to the policy of the company and the law, conducting themselves in a safe manner at all times.
  • To inform your line manager immediately of the following: personal accidents, vehicle accidents and faults with the vehicle, any Police or other Road authority convictions for motoring offences
  • To comply with the authority’s driving restrictions, as well as the Road Traffic act by driving safely and courteously at all times.
  • You are to sign for Keys and Fuel card at the beginning of your shift, both are to be signed in again on completion of use of your shift

To provide effective cleaning services across the garrison as required.

  • To support the team by carrying our general unskilled tasks as delegated.  These could be outdoor or indoor, within Messes or other controlled areas.
  • To undertake all tasks delegated in accordance with safe systems of work at all times, complying with all Health and Safety Procedures pertinent to that task including COSHH Regulations, where appropriate.
  • To assist, where necessary, in accommodation stores including the receipt, despatch and movement of stores.
  • To assist with the lifting and moving of equipment, cleaning chemicals and stores within a team.
  • To undertake general handyman duties as required.
  • To continue to develop one’s own skills and knowledge within the position, including any required training courses
  • Maintenance of the Company Quality Control Procedures, ensuring all documents are completed in a timely manner as dictated by current Legislation and Company Policy and Procedure.
  • To maintain excellent client/customer relationships
  • To attend team briefs, huddles and meetings as required
  • To maintain a clean and tidy work area at all times
  • To maintain high levels of personal hygiene and wear the appropriate uniform and PPE as required
  • To care for all available resources including equipment, materials and supplies as directed
  • To report any near miss occurrences, accidents or faulty equipment to management
  • To ensure effective communication with line manager, team, customer and client organisation
  • To maintain all areas of responsibility to the set service standards and in line with applicable service offer
  • To remain flexible and proactive to the operational requirements of the business
  • To clean and re-stock vending machines as required
  • To carry out any other reasonable tasks and or instructions as directed by management
  • To ensure security of Sodexo cash, keys and any supporting documentation as required
 

The Ideal Candidate

Essential:

  • Demonstrate experience of working in a similar role within the service industry at a comparable level in a company
  • Good communication skills, must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication
  • Clean UK driving license

Desirable:

  • Experience of working within military environment
 

 

Package Description

  • 04:30AM start
  • Full training will be provided
  • Must have a full driving licence and be over age of 25 to comply with company Driving Policy  
  • Opportunities to undertake NVQs
