Sodexo are recruiting for a Lab Services Manager for our Corporate Services Segment, based in Windlesham, Surrey. You will be responsible for managing Sodexo services to the client’s operational assets, to manage and control the services for the client to the agreed specification, performance, qualitative and financial targets.

 

As a Lab Services Manager, you will be responsible for smooth running of our client’s laboratory including lab asset management, waste management, laundry, housekeeping and instrument engineering and to lead a team to ensure delivery against Key Performance Indicators.

Our ideal candidate would have good financial acumen and with a substantial work experience in a similar role. People Management is key to this role and you will lead and support a team. We are looking for a very articulate and resilient professional who is a keen team player.

Role Responsibility

  • Ensure smooth running and efficient running of all laboratory operations including: Discovery support, Lab Asset Management, Instrument engineering, Lab housekeeping, Waste management and Laundry
  • Ensure that all costs and expenditure are within the budgeted levels agreed between the Client and Sodexo. 
  • Comply with all Sodexo & Client policies, site rules and statutory regulations relating to Health & Safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH.
  • Comply with Hazardous Waste Regulations and Legislation
  • Ensure the standards across the site are in accordance with the Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators specified in the Client service contract
  • Comply with Sodexo HR policy and procedure; deliver required admin in order to effectively manage on site teams
  • Ensure the prompt provision and efficient service of all activities at the specified time to the standards laid down in the KPI's
  • Action customer compliments by praising staff and resolve complaints satisfactorily, referring to your line manager where necessary
  • To comply with all applicable Health and Safety Legislation to ensure company and individual responsibilities are met and to be responsible for Health and Safety appertaining to the Laboratory Service Teams.
  • Maintenance of Health and Safety Documentation within teams  e.g. Risk /COSHH/Ergo Assessments

The Ideal Candidate

  • Science background with qualifications to at least “A” level standard or equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a laboratory environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent man management skills
  • Hold IOSH Certificate or equivalent
  • Good administrative skills
  • IT skills consisting of Word, PowerPoint and Excel programs
  • Effective organizational / problem solving skills
