Job Introduction
- Management of ‘Support to Experimentation and Training’ – a high priority activity that aligns 16 Brigade manpower and equipment to tasks that Army HQ orders it to achieve. This amouts to +/- 5000 training days a year.
- The J3 Clerk will be the first point of contact for all enquires who will then allocate the enquiry to the relevant Staff Officer.
- Managing large amounts of information in a timely manner (mailbox management)

Role Responsibility
- Provision of clerical support to J3 staff officers including drafting routine correspondence as necessary.
- Management of, and collation of returns and statistics including:
- Manning trawls (individual and enrolment posts).
- Backfilling (Operational and routine)
- Miscellaneous J3 as required
- Provision of office support including:
- Response to routine Higher Headquarters/unit telephone enquiries.
- The J3 Clerk will be the first point of contact for all enquires who will then allocate the enquiry to the relevant Staff Officer.
- To continue to develop one’s own skills and knowledge within the position, including any required training courses.
- To maintain excellent client/customer relationships.
- To attend team briefs and meetings as required.
- To attend your performance development review to discuss job standards and agree development activities.
- To care for all available resources including equipment, materials and supplies as directed.
- To report any near miss occurrences, accidents or faulty equipment to management.

To ensure effective communication with line manager, team, customer and client organisation.
The Ideal Candidate
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Good IT skills – Microsoft Office applications.
- Administrative experience in busy office environment.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines as well as prioritise, organise and plan.
- 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or equivalent; or NVQ Business Administration Level 2.
- Knowledge of military IT systems and envronment is desirable
