Intensive Rehabilitation Officer - Advertised on behalf of Essex CRC

Essex CRC are currently recruiting for an Intensive Rehabilitation Officer based in Colchester on a 12 months fixed term contract.

Role Responsibility

  • Liaise with CRC teams, partner agencies and educational establishments to promote CRC Reducing Re-Offending Strategy
  • Hold a caseload of service users defined as a priority by the MSD/SLT
  • Improve links with local agencies and providers to ensure we high standard of delivery is provided
  • Contribute to the development of the pilot and future development of the scheme if successful
  • Co-ordinate referrals with Manager Service Delivery from other Responsible Officers
  • Develop Allocation and Referral Processes.
  • Review data relating to the cohort and provide updates/analysis of progress.
  • Facilitate 3-way meetings between service users and Responsible Officers.
  • Provide a clear exit strategy from the CRC when a service user’s time with the CRC is ending.
  • Maintain good organisation of workload and administration and coordinate the work of and delegate tasks to relevant administration support as appropriate.
  • Use the relevant information systems and technology effectively, including for example, Delius, Word, Excel, E-Mail systems as needed.
  • Participate in supervision and appraisal with the line manager, including performance and development reviews. Engage in relevant training and development.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in a non-discriminatory way in accordance with Service policies on equality of treatment and opportunity.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential 

  • Good understanding of risk assessment and management.
  • Good understanding of counselling practice.
  • Good understanding of Essex CRC Operating Model and Minimum Standards

Desirable 

  • Good understanding of HMIP and industry standards.
  • Management of complex cases
  • Experience of liaison with external agencies and providers.

Package Description

Starting salary £23,039 per annum

37 hours per week, 27 days holiday + 8 bank holidays, defined contribution pension scheme, company sick pay, group discount scheme.

12 months fixed term contract 

There is an expectation that operational staff work some evenings and weekends to enable service users to be supervised without jeopardising their employment.

The role of Essex CRC is to rehabilitate service users, reduce reoffending and protect the public and we are one of six CRCs operated by Sodexo Justice Services in the UK.  We work with service users both in the community and in custody to deliver the sentence of the court, to rehabilitate them and to provide a range of programmes and interventions to turn their lives around.  We deliver effective offender management and rehabilitation services to low and medium risk service users and our highly skilled staff work in a range of disciplines to make a real difference.  Our aim is to create a better future for the people we work  with – service users, victims and their families and local communities.  We are proud to have strong relationships with other criminal justice agencies, local authorities, health trusts, employment and training providers, and work with contracted partners to enhance delivery to our service users.
