Insight Analyst

Job Introduction

We are currently recruiting an Insight Analyst to work alongside the Head of Insight & Trends to deliver strategic recommendations based on the analysis of market, trends and competition in the UK & Ireland. These recommendations will help inform segment marketing strategy and service line development within our Food Service platform.

This role would ideally suit a graduate with a passion for food and trends. Ideally you will have a curious mind and enjoy reading and synthesising multiple sources of insight into a clear story. You will need to be highly organised with good IT skills coupled with the confidence to present to an audience. Role can be based from our offices in Stevenage or central London.

Role Responsibility

Market insight

  • Monitoring how the market, trends and competition are evolving to support the wider business in developing new and editing existing service lines
  • Deliver a monthly newsletter to the wider business encompassing consumer, high street and competitor trends
  • Support in management of qualitative and quantitative research projects from design to analysis and presentation

Tools and training

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the current insight tools available
  • Deliver training on consumer research tools as well as techniques and insights gained from consumer testing
  • Maintain an internal database of results and presentations

Internal working relationships

  • Support in establishing and proactively promoting insight programme and capabilities
  • Support in arranging events which promote consumer insight, being:
    • Cross segment insight calls
    • Agency-led webinars

      External working relationships

  • Liaising with research agencies as and when required
  • Liaising with suppliers in order to leverage their expertise and insight (quarterly meetings)
  • Attending insight conferences, industry events and food trend tours with a view to leveraging existing insight as much as possible

Craft

  • Support in organising food trend tours
  • Presenting trends information at Craft meetings

 

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Proficiency in database management, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Analytical skills
  • Ability to compile reports detailing information gathered and aggregating information into a clear story
  • Organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to complete assigned tasks on or before deadlines without supervision
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Ability to prioritise simultaneous tasks
  • Ability to present confidently

Desirable

  • Experience in Customer and or Client Survey Research
  • Experience in running an online panel
  • Experience in survey writing
