Hospitality Chef (Sous Chef)

Job Introduction

Sodexo are looking for a Hospitality/Sous Chef to join our team at a prestigious client site in central London.

Reporting to the head chef, you will be responsible for leading culinary excellence in your own business area. Creating menu concepts, developing food ideas to meet ever-changing market needs and maintaining a safe working environment will be critical to the success of anyone in this role.

Role Responsibility

  • Lead culinary excellence in conjunction with the Head Chef and Regional Development Chef to develop and create new ideas
  • Responsible for the full compliance of statutory & Company regulations with regards to food safety & health and safety
  • To attend daily briefing meetings, weekly department head meetings, monthly health & safety meetings & quarterly staff meetings.
  • Monitor and co-ordinate team tasks on a daily & weekly basis so that all food and meal requirements from visitors are met to the required standard and on time.
  • To deputise for Head Chef in their absence
  • To support the Head Chef to ensure all menu items are costed to achieve budgeted GOP%
  • Ensure the Company’s safety management system is adhered and maintained in line with audits scores achieved
  • Assist the main restaurant when required and deputise in the absence of the head chef
  • Ensure food prepared is served at the correct service times
  • Ensure high standards of personal performance, hygiene, appearance and cleanliness always
  • Comply with all Sodexo Company Policies / procedures and client site rules and regulations

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Experience as Chef de Partie (minimum 2 years)
  • Proven hospitality, restaurant & fine dining experience
  • Good IT skills
  • Strong communications skills
  • Strong safety mindset
  • Exceptional client & consumer focus

Desirable

  • City & Guilds 7061/7062 or equivalent

£30,000 - £32,000 + benefits
