Head of Service Development (Food Platform)

Job Introduction

A fantastic opportunity has become available to join the Food Platform team as Head of Service Development.  We are looking for someone who can manage the design and development requests from our seven business segments, and turn them in to innovative, world-class services.  When deployed these services will deliver predictable and profitable growth for our segments and delight our customers.  You will need to have your finger on the pulse when it comes to the latest on insight and food trends in the UK&I and be willing to work in collaboration with our key segment partners working in an agile methodology. 

Work will be achieved through leading and collaborating with Senior multi-disciplinary teams including Deployment, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain & FM Platform. You will also work closely with the Head of Retail where required in specialist retail operations.

We are looking for candidates with professional experience at a Director level in the Food Service or High Street Food Retail. Ideally with experience in marketing, service / brand development and operations. The role offers a very attractive package with competitive salary, bonus, company car and an excellent benefits package.        

 

Role Responsibility

  • Strategy
    • Leads and drives the development of a transfer and adoption plan across UK&I to accelerate Sodexo competitiveness and differentiation in regional markets.
    • Sizes and qualifies commercial opportunity for key services, tracks and monitors performance, to ensure value identified is captured for Sodexo.
    • Understand the latest in macroeconomic and food trends and translate these in to world class food services for our clients and consumers.
  • Portfolio Optimization
    • Support common Portfolio Management architecture and implements regionally
    • Continually evaluates and promotes sound Portfolio Management discipline – Refresh, Retire and Identifies new services, markets and brands.
  • Best Practice & Service Transfer
    • Deploys tools and mechanisms to capture, promote and respond to best practice methodologies globally
    • Ability to look at Global Branded Services which are applicable to the UK&I and tailors according to the market.
    • Tracks and monitors transfer and performance, refreshes where required

       

  • Global Expert Network
    • A natural collaborator with exceptional people management skills, and willing to challenge the status quo.
    • Supports and builds a community within Service Operations (Food) to build global and regional capabilities at all levels of organization to facilitate Portfolio Optimization of Services and their transfer globally
    • Develop and provide Portfolio management tools & frameworks to enhance compliance and commercial performance in line with Food Platform strategy

       

The Ideal Candidate

  • Professional Experience at a Director level in the Food Service or High Street Food Retail Industry. Ideally with experience in marketing, service / brand development and operations.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong leadership skills
  • Strong experience and proven track record in deployment of Food Service Standards
  • Strong knowledge of Food Service Industry trends
  • High level of understanding of financial reporting, performance and tracking
  • High level of computer literacy (Microsoft and project management)
  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time and on budget
  • Proven track record of transforming teams and creating a high performing / growth mindset.
  • Driving licence with the ability to travel.
