Head of Commercial (integrator FM model)

Job Introduction

As Head of Commercial, you'll provide excellent commercial leadership and direction for our client and provide contractual support and commercial advice, you'll be heavily involved in negotiating high value commercial contracts


You'll also manage, develop and maintain the contractual relationship between each stakeholder and the client whilst providing a consistent contract change process throughout the contract life.

We are proud to be at final stage and are awaiting the outcome of a major bid, should this exciting new contract be awarded to Sodexo, we will be looking for experienced professionals within the facilities management arena.  You'll also support the transformation and change management this new contract will bring, working alongside a dedicated team for the business segment..

Role Responsibility

  • Responsible for the day to day management of the commercial team
  • Preparation and submission in a timely manner of reports and information to the Directors and Senior Stakeholders of the client relating to the business on a regular basis.
  • Preparation and submission in a timely manner of notices, records, consents, reports and any other communications required to be given to the Authority under the relevant project agreements.  
  • Management of the contractual variation process on behalf of the client.
  • Acting as interface between Sub-Contractors and Authority on all relevant matters including in respect of changes to the Works or Services, and variations of price
  • Liaising with Sub-Contractors to ensure any communications required under sub-contracts are supplied in a timely manner.
  • Liaising with professional advisers of the Client Companies and Lenders, as appropriate.
  • Monitor and review Subcontractor Health and Safety Performance, audit compliance of Subcontractors.
  • Receive and manage the timely receipt and issuing of formal notices on behalf of the client
  • Management of the contractual variation process on behalf of Sodexo and the client
  • Report diverse performance and compliance outputs to stakeholders
  • Ensure governance is in line with Sodexo delegation of authority levels
  • Document and retain electronic catalogue of all contractual change documentation
  • Act as first point of contact for internal contractual queries, and if appropriate seek advice from internal resources or if approved seek advice externally.
  • Act as a gateway externally for receiving contractual queries and amendments and manage the response process.
  • Advise on performance and contractual matters to seek resolution.

Sodexo

  • Management of the contractual variation process on behalf of Sodexo.
  • Maintenance of a library of contracts and contractual variations.
  • Advise on performance and contractual matters to seek resolution.
  • Support the Bid process with contractual support.
  • Provide commercial support to contractual negotiations

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven leadership experience gained operating in a senior level Commercial position
  • Educated to Degree level at classification 2:1 or above preferably legal, and or RICS
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record delivering complex commercial negotiations
  • Effective presentation skills with the mental agility to ‘think on feet’ and provide convincing answers with practical solutions.
  • Proven leadership of large and diverse teams both onsite and remote
  • Able to manage multiple workloads and shifting priorities
  • Able to interpret and utilise complex and varied financial and commercial information
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients and employees at all levels
  • Achieve set standards and operate to performance criteria; for example health and safety, hygiene
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative within a team environment
  • Proven experience of FM Integrator model / managing agent contract highly desirable
