Head Chef

Job Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Head Chef to ensure the preparation; cooking and presentation of all dishes meet the required high standards at our prestigious site in London.

We are looking for someone who has experience of cooking high-end International Cuisine and preparing high volumes who can bring innovation and flare to the team.

Role Responsibility

  • Plan menus, orders, preparation, cooking, and service to customers at correct times and correct volumes
  • Motivating a small team of 5, making sure training needs and records are kept up to date
  • Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the unit to required company standard and complete appropriate paper work
  • Ensure the unit is a safe working environment, and that all staff, visitors and authorised personnel are free from harm
  • Ensure all food is prepared with due care and attention, in particular special requirements – allergy meals
  • Ensure the security procedures of the unit are followed including stockrooms, refrigeration units, windows and doors
  • Assist in recruitment, support, control and discipline of staff according to the needs of the unit within the policies and procedures of Sodexo
  • Ensure that daily stock requisitions for stock have been completed
  • Provide training, mentoring and coaching to the staff as and when required and complete any paperwork needed.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in overseeing staff and implementation of best practices - strong leadership skills and good team ethic
  • Proven experience working as a Head Chef or similar role
  • Experience of menu design, international foods and deliver functions/events to a high standard
  • CIEH Level 3, COSHH, and City & Guilds or NVQ’s
  • Computer literate in Excel and Word
  • Ability to work effectively as part of the team and be an ambassador for Sodexo
  • IOSH Managing Safely and Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificates
  • Flexible approach to work and meeting deadlines
  • Good numerical and communication skills; must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication.

Package Description

40 hours per week predominantly Monday to Friday 7am – 3.30pm.

Flexibility is a must and occasional evening/weekend work will be required depending on special events or functions.

DBS is required.
