HR Business Partner (Country Operations HR Manager - Cyprus)

Job Introduction

As HR Business Partner for our Cyprus operation, which is aligned to the UK&I region, you'll partner with the business leaders to drive and deliver HR solutions, maximising people performance and strategy

An excellent opportunity for an accomplished and engaging HR professional with commercial acumen and cultural awareness, you'll build on the excellent work the current BP has delivered who is returning to the UK following three years.  

You'll bring HR competency and thought leadership to help drive innovation and expertise as a partner gained through your experience ideally running a large scale HR operation with international exposure, in addition to UK.

You'll build effective working relationships within the Sodexo Defence segment Executives, HRBPs, HR Director, on Island Lawyers, Cyprus Employers Federation, Trade Union representatives, central HR advisory, Legal Counsel, People Centre (HR Shared Services) and Centres of Expertise.

We are dedicated to delivering the best quality as well as cost-efficiency in the delivery of infrastructure, facilities management, catering, retail and leisure services to the armed forces community

Sodexo Cyprus has a headcount workforce of c780, the HR Business Partner has a team of three direct reports;  Payroll Officer, HR Advisor and HR Assistant.

RAF Akrotiri is an extremely busy permanent joint operating base that supports ongoing operations in Afghanistan as well as support for the Sovereign Base area on the Island of Cyprus. It is used as a forward mounting base for overseas operations in the Middle East and for fast jet training.

Role Responsibility

  • Partner with the business leaders to drive and deliver HR solutions
  • Maximise people performance and strategy
  • Expand leadership awareness of HR processes and systems to strengthen people management
  • Ensure the mechanics of HR work to deliver efficiency and effectiveness for the teams
  • Ensure all HR practices are in accordance with the collective agreements, Republic of Cyprus employment legislation, Cypriot employment practices and  the Sodexo ways of working

The Ideal Candidate

  • Comprehensive HR generalist experience with a professional approach and commercial acumen
  • Strong senior level influencer and experienced in business partnering with stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Passion to drive through the people strategy with strong facilitation and coaching skills
  • Experience of organisational development and design with facilitation of change
  • Experience of working with multiple trade unions
  • CIPD qualified
  • Experience of working with different cultures

Highly desirable

  • Experience of working within another country, in addition to UK&I
 

Package Description

Competitive salary of £55,000-£60,000 plus G2 benefits including bonus, car allowance and pension
