HR Assistant

Job Introduction

We are currently recruiting a HR Assistant on a 12 month fixed term contract at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust Hospital (Oxford Road campus).

Working alongside the Sodexo MFT team and reporting into the HR Business Partner no two days are the same! This role provides you with the opportunity to enhance and develop your general HR skills in a busy environment, whilst also furthering your career.

We are looking for a fast thinking, efficient, organised individual to work closely with the team and provide day to day HR support and advice.

Role Responsibility

  • Offer HR support to various stakeholders within a generalist capacity
  • Provide support on areas such as disciplinaries and grievances, sickness and absence, new starters and leavers taking minutes of meetings as required
  • Support the preparation of case files for disciplinary, grievance and absence cases
  • Monitor and maintain absence and reference requests in line with the process
  • Ensure all personnel files are kept up to date – filing on a regular basis, archiving leavers and creating files for new starters
  • Manage the HR Admin systems, updating and tracking new starter recruitment, probation period trackers and setting up exit interviews for leavers
  • Support the preparation of case files for disciplinary, grievance and absence cases
  • Produce monthly and ad-hoc reports
  • Provide a helpful and efficient service, including dealing with incoming telephone calls and visitors

The Ideal Candidate

  • Great attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to co-ordinate workloads
  • Proven IT skills, ability to demonstrate working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Previous HR Administration experience
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to type accurately and input data accurately/efficiently, spreadsheet analysis techniques are a must
  • Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Experience of being proactive and reactive
  • A desire to develop a career in HR
