HR Administration Assistant

Job Introduction

We are looking to recruit people for our HR Shared Service Centre, PeopleCentre in Salford; the centre has been open for three years and has continued to grow. The team provides excellent front line customer support to the Sodexo business, working in a team; you will be involved in providing HR administration and resolving queries related to HR processes. This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in a career in HR and has already gained some experience in administration and wants to further develop their career within a global business.

7.45am - 4.15pm and 9.45am - 6.15pm. These are alternated weekly.

Role Responsibility

Reporting to the HR Administration Team Leader you will be responsible for providing an efficient HR administration service, working to Service Level Agreements, you will continually look to improve the level of customer service and reduce the number of queries awaiting resolution. Using a Customer Service Management (CSM) system, you will provide administrative support for probationary periods, sabbaticals and secondments; undertake processing duties relating to annual leave, absence, leavers, changes to personal details and changes to terms and conditions. In addition you will perform PeopleCentre actions to support recruitment and induction of new employees, whilst liaising with Payroll and other departments to obtain necessary information to resolve queries. Maintaining HR records and ensuring all employee records are accurate and up to date is also important in this busy and varied role.  There will also be the opportunity to become involved in TUPE data gathering, mobilisation support and change projects. The team work closely together and often have social events to promote team building, the Social Committee love to arrange events such as taking part in the ‘Great Manchester Run’ to raise money for our nominated charity. In addition most recently the PeopleCentre was shortlisted for the HR team of the year award at the 2015 CIPD awards; a fantastic achievement given the centre was only set up in 2013!

The Ideal Candidate

  • Strong administration and organisational skills.
  • Customer service focused and committed to providing a helpful, friendly, responsive HR service
  • Previous experience in an administration role.
  • Ability to identify situations, which could result in potential customer complaints, in order to prevent the complaints  from occurring
  • Ability to work accurately to tight deadlines
  • Strong understanding and respect for confidentiality
  • Good verbal and written communication skills including an excellent telephone manner
  • Accurate keyboard and data entry skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work cooperatively within a team and on own initiative
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office programs.

Package Description

Up to £18,000 dependent on experience
