Graduate Laboratory Technician

Job Introduction

 

 

 

Role Responsibility

  • The ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar role of sampling and analysis (using but not limited to water analysis, Karl Fisher, GC and spectrometry)
  • Competent at data analysis and compiling professional reports for different target audiences in a timely manner
  • Immediately notify the supervisor of any anomalous or non-conformances
  • Effective management of data in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Create task specific laboratory procedures to ensure compliance to safety and quality standards.
  • Attend appropriate training to update skills, knowledge of equipment materials and procedures
  • All tasks are carried out in a professional manner, following “safe systems of work” & risk assessments
  • Wear the correct and appropriate PPE specified.
  • Assisting laboratory personnel and perform ad-hoc lab duties as required may occur outside normal working hours
  • To perform any other reasonable duties as required by your manager.     
  • Promote good safety habits and methods of work
  • To provide high personal standards of work/performance, personal hygiene and appearance
  • To ensure that you are aware of, and meet the legal and company requirements for fire, safety, health and hygiene.
  • Adherence to the ISO 9001 quality system
  • To report all accidents and near misses to the manager immediately
  • To communicate and actively participate in all contract activities in including team meetings

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum of third level qualification in analytical chemistry, microbiology, environmental science or equivalent or science work placement
  • Excellent report writing skills specifically laboratory procedures
  • Experience with gas chromatography, quality systems, method validations is desirable.
