Job Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit a service focused general assistant to work within the on site catering team at a leading contract. Role Responsibility

As a General Assistant you will be responsible for:

Assisting with the preparation of and the serving of all meals and beverages to customers
Ensuring cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen
Ensuring health and safety regulations are followed
To clean equipment, utensils, crockery and glass throughout and after service
Correct disposal of rubbish
Cleaning / tidying of kitchen throughout and after service

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate for this role will have:

Previous experience in a similar food service environment
Good customer service skills
Good communication skills – written and verbal
The ability to demonstrate great team work
The ability to follow instructions

Package Description

KEY TASKS:

Comply with statutory and company requirements.
To assist in the production and presentation of meals to the standard laid down in the Service Level Agreement.
To prepare all food with due care and attention, particularly in regard to customers’ special dietary requirements: for example, nut, dairy or wheat allergies.
Serve food and drink to customers and guests as directed.
Assist with the replenishment of food, beverages and equipment to ensure service periods do not stop.
Assist with hygienic cleaning of utensils and work areas after service periods.
Assist with the implementation of cleaning schedules to agreed standards.
Promote a friendly working relationship with colleagues.
Promote a good company image to customers and guests by using positive customer service practices.
To assist with the set up, service, clearing and cleaning of function catering as requested.
To undertake occasional duties outside the normal routine but within the scope of the position and the department’s activities.
