General Assistant

Job Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit a service focused general assistant to work within the on site catering team at a leading contract. Role Responsibility

As a General Assistant you will be responsible for:

• Assisting with the preparation of and the serving of all meals and beverages to customers
• Ensuring cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen
• Ensuring health and safety regulations are followed
• To clean equipment, utensils, crockery and glass throughout and after service
• Correct disposal of rubbish
• Cleaning / tidying of kitchen throughout and after service

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate for this role will have:

• Previous experience in a similar food service environment
• Good customer service skills
• Good communication skills – written and verbal
• The ability to demonstrate great team work
• The ability to follow instructions

Job Specification:

• Deliver exceptional and professional level of customer service to all visitors of the Emirates Aviation Experience.
• Welcome all customers within one minute of entering the exhibition.
• Assist, support and facilitate the needs of our visitors by ensuring they have access to the interactive resources on site.
• Demonstrate a strong enthusiasm for acquiring new knowledge and use this knowledge to incite and educate our visitors on the modern works of commercial aviation.
• Meet both individual and department sales targets by maximising productivity and selling at every opportunity around the exhibition as well café and shop.
• Increase customer satisfaction by identifying the needs of the customer and highlighting the features & options of the exhibition available to them.
• Provide clear and accurate information about commercial aviation whether it be the effects of flying or the specifications of flight, if the correct information is not at hand, do everything possible to provide an answer before the customer leaves i.e. inform a manager or supervisor.
• Assist with presentation of stock, ensuring that it follows the set standards and that all stock is ticketed and priced and displayed neatly readily available for visitors.
• Work as part of a team by sharing both selling and floor support duties.
• Be well presented at all times through strict adherence to the uniform guidelines
• Be flexible with working hours as some evening / night work may be required
• Ensuring health and safety regulations are followed.
